Mom Accused of Beating 13-Year-Old Daughter with Belt

Filed under: Assault/Domestic Violence — Law Offices of Billy Skinner @ 2:48 pm

A 32-year-old Houston mom was arrested after police say she beat her daughter with a belt.

The school called Child Protective Services after the girl showed up with bruises and cuts on her legs.

The girl told a CPS worker that she was whipped on her legs with a belt.

Investigators say that the girl’s mother, Latasha Davis, admitted to spanking her daughter with a small belt but she was unaware of any marks or bruises.

An HPD juvenile abuse investigator claimed that the bruises and other injuries left on the girls legs were beyond any appropriate punishment for a 13-year-old girl.

Houston Prostitution Attorney- HPD Vice targets Backpage Ads

Filed under: Uncategorized — Billy @ 5:32 pm

In a gigantic waste of tax dollars that never ceases to amaze me, I have recently had an increased number of clients that were charged with Prostitution by the Houston Police Department Vice Division, and the investigations stemmed from Backpage Ads. Honestly, I cannot imagine an issue that is a bigger waste of resources by the Houston Police Department, than targeting women who advertise on backpage. Apparently, HPD is not aware of the oldest profession on earth. Perhaps a history lesson would help. Or at a minimum have a Conservative Christian read the bible to them and remind them Vice’s efforts are not going to stop something that has been going on for at least 2,000 years.

I can remember as a Prosecutor the old line was that Prostitution brought crime to the streets, lowered the value of neighborhoods, public safety, blah, blah, blah. However, NONE of that applies to the women who chose to “make themselves available” via ads on Backpage. Men, who are seeking companionship that surely they could find for free, prefer to cut through the chase and take a direct approach to satisfying their desires. Voila, backpage.

Maybe I  am a lone voice screaming “stop this insanity”, but I do not see the harm in a woman, or man, over 18, making the conscious decision to provide pleasure for money.

I am proud to fight these ridiculous Prostitution cases. If you have been charged with a Prostitution case in Houston, call my office today for a free consultation. I have a proven track record of fighting for my clients.
